ZG Awarded Multi-year Portfolio Energy Management Services Agreement with Peninsula Clean Energy
Peninsula Clean Energy is a Community Choice Aggregation agency and the official electricity provider for San Mateo County, south of San Francisco.
Founded in 2016, the company’s mission is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It currently serves 295,000 customers, providing more than 3,500 gigawatt (GW) hours annually of electricity.
On February 1, 2021, ZG began performing daily/hourly and real-time management of PCE loads and resources. This includes PCE load forecast, implementation of supply contracts, management of loads and generation bidding, scheduling, and settlements of all loads and generation into the CAISO market.
In addition, managing congestion and markets positions. This will be the tenth energy agency or municipality under contract with ZG for these services. Existing clients include Anaheim, Corona, Metropolitan Water District, Victorville, Silicon Valley Clean Energy, Pioneer Community Energy, MCE, Bear Valley and Butte Community Energy. This accounts for about 14 terawatt (TW) hours of load, serving roughly 13 million Californians and representing 30% of the total community choice aggregation capacity currently in operation.
