  1. On behalf of the State of California and the California Attorney general office and the State Department of Justice, in the matter if widespread market manipulation that occurred in the California wholesale markets between May 1, 2000 and June 20, 2001; San Diego Gas & Electric Company, Complainant, v. Sellers of Energy and Ancillary Services into Markets Operated by the California Independent System Operator Corporation and the California Power Exchange, Respondents. Testimony by Alaywan on August 13-16, 2013, Z.  and McIntosh, J.; Docket Nos. EL00-95-000; EL00-95-045; EL00-95-075; EL00-98-000; EL00-98-042; EL00-98-063. Docket No. EL01-10-085. Specifically, testified in federal court that led to the settlements of the dispute. On August 18, 2013, the parties settled, and the State of California received a settlement of $750 million.

     

  2. On behalf of AREA Energy, Brian Rahman of ZGlobal provided expert witness testimony in a binding arbitration in regard of  the developments of over $1 Billion solar facility on 6,100 acres in Kern County.  After several months and contentious proceeding, the judge ruled in favor of ZG client. Formed in June 1997 and jointly owned by affiliates of Shell and ExxonMobil, AREA specialize in tapping heavy oil and other unconventional light reservoirs. AERA produces about 125,000 barrels of oil and 32 million cubic feet of natural gas each day and has proved oil and gas reserves. AREA Energy is one of California’s largest oil and gas producers, accounting for nearly 25% of the state’s production

Hudson Project

SCE completed all the necessary upgrades to achieve the 1,455 MW Path 42 rating.
